Job Description

Commercial Lawyer (Fixed Term Contract until 28.2.2011)

Purpose: Provision of Commercial Legal Advice to my clients Group of Companies on commercial contracts.

Key Accountabilities: Provide sound, practical and authoritative legal advice to the Group of Companies on all commercial agreements entered into by the business in the UK. This will involve advising the Executive Committee and Senior Management Team as well as liaising with a number of internal departments.

Review and where appropriate negotiate all supplier agreements entered into by the company on Non-Standard T&Cs to ensure that company interests are protected in all agreements and that the companies are not exposed to any unacceptable risk.

Review and where appropriate negotiate all Service Level Agreements requested by customers or suppliers.

Review (and where appropriate contribute to) and approve all Tenders and Questionnaires.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • €¢Good understanding of re-insurance and private label arrangements.

  • €¢Good understanding of an international business model.

  • €¢Excellent knowledge of commercial contracts

  • €¢Excellent negotiation skills

  • €¢Experience of dealing with external solicitors.

Minimum entry criteria:

  • €¢A solicitor with 1 to 3 years PQE.

  • €¢Experience of an FSA regulated company

  • €¢A working knowledge of the Data Protection Act

  • €¢Experience of Contract negotiation
